Requirements
  • Completion of eight required mentoring sessions with a seasoned volunteer or local liaison/leadership member
  • Must maintain active SHINE Volunteer Counselor status and complete STARS, SIRS, and eCIRTS trainings
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years experience in a similar program and/or social services agency
  • Experience working with computers, especially with Microsoft applications
  • At least an intermediate level of proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with database entry and/or database management
  • Above average presentation skills
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Must be able to pass Level II Background Screening
  • Ability to work part-time approximately 20 hours a week, with possibility of full-time during Open Enrollment (October 15 to December 7)
  • Managerial/Coordination expectations including reporting to SHINE Liaison and no supervision exercised
Responsibilities
  • Accurately completes and inputs SHINE Beneficiary Contact, Group and Media Outreach Education Events and other reporting forms to assure continued funding
  • Openly communicates with local program volunteers on behalf of leadership as needed
  • Schedules counseling site availability per counselor and communicates said schedule
  • Assists with monthly programmatic reports
  • Attends and completes all required SHINE training, as scheduled by the Department of Elder Affairs
  • Participation in routine local training (quarterly or monthly)
  • Completes office management tasks at the direction of the Liaison and/or Director of Programs and Planning
  • Boxes and organizes prior-year reports for transfer to off-site storage
  • Prepares Travel Reimbursement forms for Volunteer and Staff for attendance to conferences/events for reimbursement
  • Maintains an accurate and up-to-date volunteer list
  • Monitors and maintains supply inventory; initiates orders when supplies are low
  • Tracks SHINE staff and volunteer background screening renewal dates and coordinates required paperwork for timely renewals
