Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineer or other engineering field
  • Experience with taking an electronic design through schematic capture, PCB layout, and bring-up
  • Demonstrated projects or experience in one or more of the following areas: semiconductor physics, physics of failure, accelerated testing, design for reliability, EEE component design
  • Experience with basic failure analysis tools and methods (x-ray, cross-section, polishing)
  • Familiarity with fundamental of reliability engineering and accelerated stress testing
  • Familiarity with a variety of different package types (TSOP, BGA, QFN, etc.)
  • Experience with radiation effects testing of electronics
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing systems for electronic components
  • Experience performing failure analysis and destructive physical analysis investigations to provide corrective actions and paths to closure
  • Knowledge of accelerated test profiles for component-level screening and qualification testing
  • Experience with SQL and/or Python
  • Extended hours and weekend work as needed to support critical deliverables and testing operations

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate new electronic components for use in satellite, ground station, and consumer products
  • Develop automation for component library management, component parametric information, and supply chain integration
  • Perform failure analysis and drive root cause investigations and corrective actions for component related issues
  • Optimize the Starlink system by driving design component commonality and reuse
  • Execute up-screening campaigns to determine suitability of commercial electronics for the space mission environment
