Requirements
  • The candidate must be at least 21 years old.
  • The candidate must complete a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • The candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license for the state where they reside and maintain all state and local licensing requirements.
  • The candidate must be able to pass a physical examination as required by the Department of Transportation or company policy.
  • The candidate must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, bend, kneel, and balance to change tires, inspect and push vehicles, and use hand tools to provide service.
  • The candidate must achieve satisfactory pre-employment and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and motor vehicle screening.
  • The candidate must be able to operate passenger vehicles and light-medium-duty trucks with manual and automatic transmissions while primarily working from a service vehicle.
  • The candidate must communicate effectively in writing, verbally, by email, and using assigned technology such as global positioning systems.
  • The candidate must successfully complete required departmental training courses within 60 days of hire and additional future department training as required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide tow and recovery services using established guidelines and quality control procedures for the Tow Truck Driver position.
  • Provide lockout, fuel delivery, battery jump-start, and tire-change services using established guidelines and quality control procedures.
  • Sell, install, test, and perform battery warranty services for members as a Mobile Battery Technician.
  • Communicate with members effectively to keep them informed and ensure their safety.
  • Make sound decisions regarding the safe servicing of vehicles and accommodate member needs.
  • Enter call information accurately into in-truck technology, process payments, handle cash, and complete required reports.
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections, ensuring that all are in safe operating condition and that all requirements are met.
  • Ensure that the fleet vehicle and all equipment are adequately secured at all times, including when the vehicle is not in use.
  • Support AAA as needed by participating in special events, including parades, television, radio, and social media activities promoting the brand.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three years of experience in an automotive or mechanical environment, technical school, or at least three years of experience in sales and/or customer service is preferred.
