We are searching for an experiencedSenior Database Developer to join our team and help us build the next generation of Customer Relations Management tools at CoStar.We have the industry’s largest set ofCommercialReal Estate property data, which lets us create innovative products while solving challenging data engineering problems, such as high-volume data ingestion, data cleansing, real-time modeling/publication and high-performance, high-availability consumption of all this information.

This position is in our Richmond, VA office and offers 3 days in office and 2 days remote schedule.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, testing and deploying scalable, reusable and maintainable applications that handle large amounts of data.
• Taking full ownership of your work,from development and testingto eventual deployment and support in production.
• Collaborating with other engineers, product owners, designers, and leadership.
• Becoming a trusted team member in matters of technical architecture, design, and code.
• Advocating for evolution and improvement - both technical and non-technical - within our teams. Includes new tech,toolsand best practices.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited, not for profit university or college
• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting common database issues 
• 3+ experience in developing, implementing, and optimizing views, stored procedures, and functions using T-SQL 
• Ability to analyze technical requirements and design new architectures, data models and ETL strategies
• Expertise in database design, complex T-SQL programming, performance tuning and index analysis 
• Facilitate discussions among database developers to exchange ideas and introduce new database technologies 
• A track record of commitment to prior employers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies. 
• Strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) 
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based relational and non-relational databases such as S3, DynamoDB, or ElasticSearch
• Familiarity with designing data engineering solutions using C#, .NET Core, and Web API to support data integration, transformation, unit testing
• Experience developing and managing data streaming solutions using platforms such as Apache Kafka and Databricks, ensuring real-time data processing, high availability, and scalability
