Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
  • 10+ years of professional industry experience working on large projects including 2+ years of people management experience in product development environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective collaboration skills driving changes at scale
  • Experience in working with Senior leadership across multiple product and engineering areas
  • Deep understanding of JVM-based technologies preferred (Kotlin or Java) and cloud platform service, e.g, AWS.
Responsibilities
  • Be a great engineering leader for the team and broader organization. You will be working with a very technical diverse team of developers and expected to provide technical direction
  • Manage a team of 8 -10 engineers to plan, track and deliver quality features in fast-paced agile environment
  • Collaborate with other disciplines like PM and UX, partner with other teams to manage dependency and effectively manage the project to deliver on time
  • Capable of designing and providing technical guidance to large feature area and ability to understand the technical details of a complex area
  • Rigorous quality engineering practices across all phases of product development and deployment
  • Mentor employees in the development of team and individual goals, provide regular and specific feedback, and assess individual and team performance

Expedia Group Lays Off Employees In Latest Workforce Cut

Posts on LinkedIn by affected employees show the layoffs impacting engineering and other departments. Skift, which first reported the cuts, said the layoffs impacted about 3% of Expedia’s workforce. Expedia had 16,500 employees across nearly 50 countries, as of Dec. 31, according to Expedia’s annual 10-K filing
