Requirements
- 8+ years in full-cycle payroll experience with expertise in processing and managing payrolls for a minimum of 300 employees
- An experienced leader in all facets of payroll, equity transactions, and stock administration
- Expertise in payroll accounting functions, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, workers comp, leave plans, employee relations, and benefits administration
- Developed and streamlined payroll process improvement
- Experience with SOX compliance and procedures
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) up and down the organization, from individuals and department leads
- Experience with payroll system and process implementation
- Proficiency in Excel and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Experience in global payroll
- Positive team player, who can take ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Experience managing direct reports
Responsibilities
- Lead semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll timely and accurately for multi-state employees
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Subject matter expert in researching/understanding new rules and tax regulations pertaining to payroll and stock option programs
- Partner with other functional leads (including Legal and HR) to develop processes which ensure the accuracy of all payroll data including all aspects of record-keeping, withholding, reporting, reconciliation, and auditing
- Support equity administration
- Prepare month-end journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations related to areas of responsibility
- Prepare and reconcile year-end reporting preparations, such as W-2 reporting
- Assist with quarterly and year-end audit requests from auditors
- Ensure payroll process and procedures are compliant with SOX controls
- Perform ad-hoc projects, as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Payroll certification such as CPP
