Data Scientist
Location: Hybrid - Shelton, CT

We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to fill the role of Data Scientist. In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating current business practices, build reflective KPI’s to drive reduction of costs and improve operational efficiency. Will also support Operations Department leadership for overall reporting needs that help manage the day to day activities of their workstreams and Team.
Why this Role is Important:
This role is pivotal in the growth of the Department and required for our ability to make critical business decisions based on facts and trends. Will hold Leadership Team and contributors accountable to meeting KPI’s that are designed to keep the Team and Department working as efficiently as possible. The Analyst Role will also support the overall day to day reporting needs of the Operations Leadership Team to manage their respective workstreams within the Department.
Responsibilities:
- Perform research, analysis, coding, testing and debugging of reports and dashboard utilizing AWS Quicksight, Microsoft Excel and related tools.
- Analyze data to gain insights, provide information, and make recommendations to the business
- Present data analysis to vendors, partners and internal Budderfly personnel
- Perform statistical data analysis, build forecasting and optimization models
- Gather, evaluate & analyze data from multiple sources to use as input on building KPI’s for Department
- Through analysis identify trends that will feed areas of opportunity for efficiency.
- Support the building of Reports that help Operations ensure all area of the business process flows are accurate and data is consistent
- Develop reports to simplify and scale Operations day to day tasks
- Design and implement closed loop reporting processes for the tracking of Operations Tasks
Desired Skills and Experience:
- A passion for data analysis and for answering the key questions that help drive a business
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present and effectively communicate findings to vendors, partners and Budderfly team members
- Team player able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage and progress on multiple, simultaneous projects
- Strong analytical skills
- Creative problem solver with the ability to think outside the box and bring a new perspective.
- Ability to prioritize and support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to work remotely and independently.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Statistics, or equivalent real-world experience
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar role with stated or related technologies is required
- Experience with analyzing and interpreting data
- Experience with Quicksight is required
- Experience with writing SQL queries (a plus)
- Strong statistical analysis background is required
- Experience with version control software such as GIT is (a plus)
- Full exposure to and understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle and using Jira and Confluence (a plus)
