Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • At least 10 years of progressive information technology experience is required.
  • At least 5 years in senior technical leadership roles such as Solution Architect, Chief Engineer, or Systems Engineer is required.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex system integrations and operational optimizations across multivendor environments is required.
  • Deep knowledge of systems engineering principles and cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google Cloud, is required.
  • Ability to design architectures that provide scalability, security, and performance is required.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders at all organizational levels is required.
  • Ability to convert business requirements into cohesive, actionable technical solutions that drive measurable value is required.
  • Hands-on experience managing the full engineering project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and optimization, is required.
  • Expertise in security best practices and compliance frameworks such as NIST and FedRAMP is required, including the ability to embed controls into solution designs.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop end-to-end architecture blueprints that translate business strategy into scalable technology roadmaps.
  • Architect and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across on-premises, hybrid, and multicloud environments using Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Evaluate solution viability through feasibility studies, proofs of concept, and structured technical risk assessments.
  • Establish and maintain architecture guardrails that keep design decisions consistent with enterprise principles, security posture, and mission objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams through design, build, test, and delivery phases.
  • Coach and empower solution architects, senior engineers, developers, and consultants on architecture patterns, engineering discipline, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Establish review processes, design authorities, and communities of practice that promote architectural quality and delivery consistency.
  • Act as a strategic technical partner to corporate services and service delivery.
  • Translate complex technical requirements into actionable solutions aligned with mission priorities.
  • Present architecture decisions, road maps, and return-on-investment analyses to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Partner with customer and program leadership to shape technology vision, align investments with strategic outcomes, and ensure sustained value realization.
  • Define, evolve, and govern a modular service catalog for integration, automation, and cloud capabilities.
  • Define and implement service-level objectives, cost models, and transition frameworks for operational readiness and measurable performance accountability.
  • Assess and refine catalog offerings using adoption metrics, customer feedback, and enterprise priorities.
  • Partner with sales and capture teams to develop solution strategies, craft request-for-proposal and request-for-information responses, and shape competitive bid approaches.
  • Identify and advance growth opportunities within existing accounts by demonstrating the business value of architectural innovation and modernization.
  • Contribute to go-to-market planning and thought leadership by translating emerging technologies and delivery capabilities into market differentiators.
  • Capture architectural patterns, decision rationales, and implementation lessons to inform future designs and reduce rework.
  • Maintain version-controlled architecture documentation, reference models, and solution guides.
  • Operationalize documentation standards, peer reviews, and learning exchanges.
  • Develop and maintain a searchable knowledge base of architectural assets.
  • Identify, pilot, and operationalize emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, automation, serverless computing, and edge computing.
  • Establish and lead governance practices that balance innovation velocity with architectural integrity.
  • Establish and enforce enterprise governance models integrating architecture, security, and compliance frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL, NIST, and FedRAMP.
Desired Qualifications
  • ITIL, TOGAF, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, or cloud-specific certifications are preferred, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, and Google Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Demonstrated success leading the development and implementation of enterprise architecture frameworks, business-process automation, and data-flow automation initiatives is preferred.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition processes, proposal development, contingent and new-award requirements, and integrating information technology solutions within federal environments is preferred.
  • Experience with service-catalog tooling such as ServiceNow and BMC is preferred.
  • Experience with automation platforms such as Ansible, Terraform, Azure DevOps, and AWS CloudFormation is preferred.
  • An active Secret security clearance or above is preferred.
