Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and member in good standing of the Oklahoma Bar with a minimum of seven years’ experience in practicing law.
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and member in good standing of the Oklahoma Bar with a minimum of five years’ experience in practicing law.
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and member in good standing of the Oklahoma Bar; and two years’ experience.
  • Must be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
Responsibilities
  • support the functions of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and represent the agency, its Board, and personnel in legal proceedings.
  • handle a wide range of legal matters, including but not limited to employment law, constitutional law and civil rights, EMTALA, mental health law, departmental investigations, legislation, policies, ethics, and litigation in state and federal courts as well as other tribunals.
  • prepare and litigate both routine and increasingly complex cases.
