POWER BI SME (CORPIT)

Bowhead seeks a Power BI SME to join an established team in Dahlgren, VA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data visualization, business intelligence, and analytics, with a strong focus on Power BI. This role will be responsible for leading the development of Power BI solutions, driving data-driven decision-making, and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Create and optimize data models to ensure efficient data retrieval and reporting.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications.
•  Establish and promote best practices for Power BI development, including data governance, data quality, and performance optimization.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and team members on Power BI and data visualization techniques.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the Power BI skills of team members and stakeholders.
• Project Management: Lead and manage Power BI projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Identify and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, dashboards, and data sources.
• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

• Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 3 years focused on Power BI.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred but not required. 
• IAT Level II certification required (Security +)
• Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and Power Query.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Experience with SQL and database management systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Power BI certification or relevant business intelligence certifications.
• Experience with Azure Data Services or other cloud-based data solutions.
• Familiarity with machine learning and advanced analytics concepts.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance at the Top Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
