World Relief Quad Cities seeks a Housing Manager to oversee the housing team as they secure and set up safe, sanitary and affordable housing for newly arriving refugees. This position will act as a liaison among participants, volunteers, caseworkers and property managers, while maintaining strong relationships with local landlords in order to be aware of current availability
Role & Responsibilities

- Secure safe, sanitary and affordable housing for newly arriving refugees.
- Coordinate property viewings, lease signings, MidAmerican service requests and renter’s insurance for newly arriving refugees.
- Supervise the Donations Coordinator, Warehouse Assistant, Housing Assistant and contractors delivering housing education to new arrivals.
- Maintain relationships with current landlords and build relationships with new landlords.
- Communicate with apartment managers and maintenance staff to ensure that properties are ready and in good condition in time for arrivals.
- Communicate with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure an adequate supply of donations in the warehouse.
- In accordance with grant guidelines, complete the Site Visit Housing Checklist prior to a new arrival and ensure the resettlement caseworker receives a copy.
- Lead weekly housing meetings with the Donations Coordinator and Warehouse Assistant to discuss upcoming arrivals and to brainstorm housing opportunities.
- Participate in Housing Team meetings with the Finance Department, Resettlement Manager and Program Director.
- Advocate on behalf of clients with landlords and property managers when maintenance issues persist.
- Oversee the delivery of housing education for newly arriving refugees within 90 days of arrival.
- Case note all housing-related services in Dynamics.
- Other related tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Flexibility and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced work environment
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and effectively in cross-cultural settings
- Good time management and multi-tasking skills
