We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Manufacturing Associate to join our plastics production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical manufacturing processes, with hands-on experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in a manufacturing setting. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of plastic materials and components.
Responsibilities
- Plastic Manufacturing Operations:
- Operate and monitor plastic production equipment such as extrusion machines, injection molding machines, and other related systems.
- Assist in the setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of plastic manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Ensure the production process adheres to safety standards and quality guidelines.
- Chemical Process Management:
- Monitor and adjust chemical processes involved in the plastic manufacturing process (e.g., compounding, mixing, or polymerization).
- Conduct tests to monitor chemical and physical properties of the plastic products to ensure consistency with specifications.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control team to address any product deviations and implement corrective actions.
- PLC & Automation Support:
- Operate and maintain PLC-based control systems for automated manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot PLC issues, perform minor repairs, and work with the engineering team for more complex issues.
- Conduct periodic system checks and ensure that automated processes run smoothly, reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Process Improvement:
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Document and report on process deviations and corrective actions taken.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and regulatory compliance standards in the workplace.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Participate in safety training and meetings.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, specifically in plastics production or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automation systems is required.
- Familiarity with plastic processing equipment (e.g., injection molding, extrusion) and chemical manufacturing techniques.
- Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining automated machinery is a plus.
