Requirements
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of progressive HR experience spanning employee relations and strategic HR business partnership, including prior people-management responsibility.
  • Experience serving as an HR business partner to senior leaders in organization design, compensation application, and workforce planning.
  • Experience leading workplace investigations and resolving complex employee-relations matters.
  • Strong command of employment law and its application to real situations, including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and state equivalents.
  • Experience using workforce data and analytics to inform people decisions.
  • Experience operating across multiple locations and business units with varying levels of sophistication.
  • Strategic HR judgment that connects people decisions to business outcomes.
  • Expert judgment in sensitive, ambiguous, and high-stakes people situations.
  • Working knowledge of organization design and compensation structures, including how to apply them with managers.
  • Deep knowledge of employment law and the ability to translate it into practical, defensible guidance.
  • Skilled investigation abilities, including impartiality, thoroughness, and the ability to reach and document sound conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret workforce data, question it, and turn it into recommendations.
  • Conflict-management, coaching, and difficult-conversation skills.
  • Discretion and confidentiality, with the ability to earn trust across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior leaders across the enterprise to shape and optimize organizational designs, including structures, roles, spans, and reporting relationships.
  • Work with managers to apply compensation plans and structures to real pay decisions and guide leaders through compensation conversations.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, capability needs, succession, and staffing ahead of demand.
  • Serve as the strategic people advisor to business-unit leaders and support better people decisions.
  • Own the intake, triage, and resolution of employee-relations matters across the enterprise while maintaining consistent, fair, and defensible documentation.
  • Lead prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into complaints, misconduct, and policy violations; reach well-reasoned findings and recommend fair, legally sound action.
  • Mediate workplace disputes and coach parties toward durable resolution.
  • Own the performance-management framework, including coaching plans, improvement plans, and difficult performance conversations.
  • Guide managers through disciplinary actions and terminations, ensuring decisions are consistent, well-documented, and defensible.
  • Coach leaders across the enterprise on handling people issues and improving the quality and consistency of people decisions.
  • Interpret HR policy and employment law in live situations and advise leaders on appropriate courses of action.
  • Own the risk-sensitive side of compliance, including investigations, disciplinary defensibility, and matters with legal exposure, and partner with Legal on high-risk situations.
  • Own judgment calls on contested accommodations and situations intersecting with protected leave while partnering with HR Operations on leave administration and the interactive process.
  • Translate workforce data, including turnover, engagement, movement, and cost, into actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Bring data to organizational-design, compensation-application, and workforce-planning discussions.
  • Champion a healthy, values-aligned workplace culture and use engagement data and listening tools to identify issues early.
  • Provide a trusted, confidential channel for employees to raise concerns and close the loop on those concerns.
  • Hire, develop, and lead a team of HR and employee-relations professionals.
  • Implement development programs including ramp plans, personal development plans, quarterly feedback, and varied learning methods.
  • Own the business-partnership and employee-relations budget, including planning, tracking, resource stewardship, and return- and risk-based resource allocation.
  • Partner with the Director of HR Operations to lead the HR function as an integrated department.
  • Collaborate on priorities, communication, workload planning, and issue resolution to provide consistent, practical, and timely HR support across the organization.
