Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5-7 years of related experience
  • Shall have the ability to work independently, think and plan ahead and bring issues to attention of management
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, detail oriented and provide accurate work products
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Productivity tools (Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) (preferred)
  • Experience creating document templates and workflows in industry digital document approval platforms like DocuSign and Adobe Sign would be beneficial
  • Some travel may be necessary 25% or less (when required)
  • Bachelor’s degree or a diploma with equivalent working experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5-7 years related industry experience preferred
  • Preferred large industrial construction procurement experience
  • Prefer experience in multiple industrial market sectors
  • Prior experience interfacing with client and engineering entities preferred
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Dragnet, PPMS and other job-specific IT support systems (desirable)
Responsibilities
  • Lead procurement activities for medium to high critical materials, equipment, and subcontracts sourcing events.
  • Perform and carry out Project Procurement Manager related responsibilities when substituting.
  • Develop negotiating strategies, assign work, oversee and mentor lesser tenured peers.
  • Source activities for both estimating support on projects in the Deal Development phase and Procurement Execution activities through life cycle from RFP solicitation through Award phase.
  • Perform commercial analysis of bidders proposals, write and submit recommendations of award, and conduct Bidder conferences.
  • Engage and maintain supplier relationships on awarded contracts and communicate with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain transparency with the Project Management Team.
  • Focus on contract life-cycle management and administration, and overall supplier management and relationship building.
  • Establish core contract management processes and contract content to monitor and manage contract compliance.
  • Participate in procurement project management teams to support contract compliance.
  • Identify issues, propose solutions, provide negotiation support and resolve contractual issues.
  • Advise in Master Agreement Program Contract Development.
  • Participate in Deal Development and support in estimating efforts including issuing Requests for Information.
  • Lead in procurement execution for medium to high criticality sourcing events, including developing sourcing strategies, supplier lists, issuing RFP packages and amendments, evaluating proposals, negotiating, and writing supplier recommendations.
  • Understand terms and conditions and contract formation; negotiate award of contracts to suppliers.
  • Support contract administration and subcontract management; participate in supplier and subcontractor kick-off and close-out meetings.
  • Scope and negotiate contract change orders and amendments; participate in weekly procurement meetings.
  • Act as Work Leader for teams with partial supervision responsibilities; assign work, oversee Level 1 and Level 2 activities, provide backup to Project Procurement Manager; provide mentorship to team.
  • Maintain knowledge of procurement processes and procedures and execute in accordance with Zachry’s standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of Oracle, Dragnet, PPMS, and other job-specific IT support systems.

Zachry Group awarded Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource's Combined Cycle Generation Project. SAN ANTONIO-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Zachry Group (Zachry) has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource Inc.'s Combined Cycle Generation Project, a major infrastructure project located near Wheatfield, Indiana. The facility will support NiSource's delivery of electricity to a third-party customer and includes two nominal 1,300-megawatt gas-fired combined cycle units in a 2 x 2 x 1 configuration. A subsidiary of NiSource Inc. will own and operate the facility. The EPC contract will be executed by a joint venture between Zachry Group and Quanta Services, Inc. (Quanta). Zachry will lead engineering, procurement, project management, construction planning, and commissioning, drawing on its five decades of experience designing and building over 100 gas-fired facilities totaling more than 60,000 megawatts. Quanta will contribute field-level leadership and craft workforce management through its operating companies. This collaborative approach is designed to enhance execution certainty, optimize labor resources, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality infrastructure.
