Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technology Management, or a related field, plus more than five years in architecture or IT leadership within highly regulated industries. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered
  • Possess strong hands-on expertise across multiple technical fields or has advanced from traditional development roles into architecture or leadership
  • Solid experience with multiple modern languages, patterns and technologies such as Python, Java, integration fabric, cloud computing, infrastructure as code, continuous integration/continuous deployment, automated testing, virtualization/containers, API management, messaging/streaming, Generative or Agentic AI, etc.
  • Strong problem resolution, analysis and troubleshooting skills related to information architecture concepts that enable well-architected and integrated transactional, analytical, and collaborative systems
  • Leverage systems-thinking to ensure breadth and depth of architectures
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills
  • Excellence in written, verbal and presentation skills when working with business leaders, project management, and technical experts at all levels
  • Listen actively, resolve conflicts, negotiate, and lead business leaders and project teams toward optimal outcomes through collaboration
Responsibilities
  • Develop and nurture strong, trusted relationships with key business and technology stakeholders
  • Work closely with the product owners and product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product life cycle
  • Support product managers in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire services or systems, including applications, technologies, processes and information
  • Represent IT at project inception and assist in creation of business cases and the preparation of project funding proposals - including TCO
  • Offer technical guidance on initiatives, helping select and guide the implementation of appropriate technologies
  • Take part in strategic planning sessions for both business and technology, and help create roadmaps for business and technical capabilities
  • Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural solution to achieve business objectives with consideration of business drivers and capabilities
  • Promote straightforward, standardized, scalable, and automated solutions guided by Zions’ philosophy and architectural principles
  • Define principles, architecture patterns and standards to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision
  • Create architectural solutions to guide and contextualize solution designs/development across products, services, projects and systems
  • Develop future state roadmaps for products and technologies that align to and enable business objectives
  • Assist Business Analysts and System Owners in defining technology and non-functional requirements for solutions
  • Keep up to date on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices
  • Mentor others in Architecture thinking
  • Champion and enable innovation and AI
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in banking or other financial services sectors
  • Experience in marketing, investment services, banking service fulfillment, or call center and customer service
  • Experience migrating on-premises system to the cloud
  • Knowledge of core banking systems such as TCS BaNCS, FIS, Fiserv, and ACI Worldwide
  • Working understanding and certifications in related frameworks such as TOGAF and BIAN
  • Use of EA repository software (BizzDesign, Orbus, etc.)

Zions Bank CEO Nate Callister joins World Trade Center Utah board

World Trade Center Utah has appointed Nate Callister, president and CEO of Zions Bank, to its board of directors. Callister, who also serves as executive vice president of Zions Bancorporation, brings over 25 years of commercial banking leadership experience. Zions Bank has been a key partner for WTC Utah, providing trade finance, risk-management solutions and banking infrastructure to help Utah businesses expand globally. The bank, founded in Utah in 1873, is headquartered in Salt Lake City. WTC Utah's board is currently chaired by Jeff Flake, former US senator and ambassador to Turkey. The organisation aims to make Utah "the crossroads of the world" by supporting international business opportunities. On 6-7 May, WTC Utah will co-host the Zions Bank Crossroads of the World International Trade Summit in Salt Lake City.

Miles joins Zions Bank in senior vice president role. Christina Miles has joined Zions Bank as senior vice president and director of sales, responsible for developing and elevating the bank's sales culture, including processes, training, recognition and reporting. Based in Boise, Idaho, Christina has more than 20 years of commercial banking experience and most recently spent 15 years as vice president and Business Development officer for Wells Fargo. She earned her bachelor's degree and MBA from Northwest Christian University (now Bushnell University) in Eugene, Oregon, and serves on the Idaho Manufacturing Alliance board of directors. She is an active member of the Idaho-Oregon Fruit and Vegetable Association and Blood Cancer United.
