Requirements
  • The candidate must be enrolled at least half-time, taking 6 credit hours per semester.
  • The candidate must maintain a Texas A&M International University overall GPA of 2.0.
  • The candidate must meet all other requirements stated in Texas A&M International University's Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
  • The candidate must be proficient in using a personal computer workstation with common software applications.
  • The candidate must be able to organize and multitask functions to comply with deadlines.
  • The candidate must have customer service, interpersonal relationship, communication, problem analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • The candidate must be able to learn and use multiple software programs.
  • The candidate may need to move or lift objects weighing 20–50 pounds.
  • The candidate must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • The position requires on-campus, face-to-face interactions and regular attendance on campus and in the workplace.
  • The candidate must promptly complete all required training.
  • The candidate is subject to a criminal history investigation and credential verification.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with unmanned aerial vehicle preparation and flight operations.
  • Conduct field data collection using unmanned aerial vehicle platforms.
  • Support sensor calibration and equipment maintenance.
  • Process aerial imagery and sensor data.
  • Assist with flight planning and mission execution.
  • Maintain research equipment and flight records.
  • Prepare technical documentation and presentations.
  • Participate in regular research meetings.
  • Submit a timesheet biweekly.

  • Experience with unmanned aerial vehicle operation.
  • Experience with drone mission planning.
  • Experience with geographic information systems.
  • Experience with remote sensing.
  • Experience with image processing.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with computer vision.
  • Experience with robotics.
  • An FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is highly desirable but not required.
