- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or have an education equivalency for licensing.
- Have one year of registered nurse experience.
- Hold Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- Hold the applicable registered nurse license for the state of work location; for Missouri, a Missouri registered nurse license or a registered nurse license issued by a compact state is accepted.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Meet the stated physical requirements, including standing and walking, lifting and carrying objects, pushing and pulling, sitting, reaching, keyboard use and data entry, and sensory abilities for communication, alarms, odors, body sounds, machinery, distances, and color identification.
- Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the assigned shift.
- Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
- Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring population-appropriate patient care.
- Collaborate with advanced practice providers to ensure quality outcomes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify issues affecting desired patient outcomes.
- Respond to complaints about patient care and manage them through established channels.
- Provide input for hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating staff when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
