Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible engineering design or engineering design management experience is required.
  • Candidates must be able to work in the United States.
  • Familiarity with PennDOT Design Manuals 1 through 5 and PennDOT Publication 740 is beneficial.
  • Applied knowledge of Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration policies and procedures is beneficial.
  • A Professional Engineer license or progress toward a Professional Engineer license is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple infrastructure projects, including bridge, street reconstruction, traffic, and other locally led projects in western Pennsylvania.
  • Oversee multiple design projects for a Local Public Agency program.
  • Manage contracts, agreements, funding, design reviews, and coordination with grant agencies such as PennDOT and the Federal Highway Administration.
  • Coordinate and chair meetings reviewing design progress, utilities, right of way, Public Utility Commission matters, railroad matters, and related topics.
  • Oversee administrative and support staff.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with Local Public Agency staff.
  • Travel as required for project duties or as directed by the supervisor.
  • Attend company-provided training prerequisites.
  • Perform other duties that arise from time to time and are commensurate with the title and position.
