Requirements
  • Knowledge of designing mechanical systems, mechanical-system codes, code analysis, specifications, DDC controls, HVAC monitoring, electrical systems related to HVAC systems, and fire alarm/protection system devices.
  • Skilled at using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams, with strong organizational skills for file management.
  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Intermediate skill conducting load and ventilation calculations.
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication, organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in a distraction-free workspace.
  • Ability to select most HVAC equipment types, follow and create hydronic flow diagrams, and size ductwork and piping.
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements.
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with technical and non-technical information.
  • Ability to communicate directly with clients and at times serve as the primary point of client contact.
  • Ability to work successfully as a team member and independently with moderate supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
  • Minimum of three years of mechanical engineering experience.
Responsibilities
  • Perform intermediate to advanced engineering work as directed.
  • Perform intermediate to advanced mechanical design tasks under a senior engineer's supervision.
  • Perform intermediate to advanced computations and analysis for mechanical systems.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit software to prepare drawings and visual aids.
  • Review and write basic HVAC controls sequences of operations.
  • Survey existing building conditions and prepare technical reports of findings.
  • Collect data and other information for construction documents.
  • Prepare project design and construction documents.
  • Edit and write project specifications.
  • Work as part of the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals.
  • Review and respond to requests for information.
  • Review and complete punch lists and project closeout documents.
  • Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Update and maintain shop drawing and request-for-information logs.
  • Manage personal hours using company tools.
  • Leverage artificial intelligence-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, high-quality work output.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and demonstrate continuous learning by seeking new technologies, skills, and methods.
  • Adapt to emerging technologies and evolving digital workflows and support integration and adoption of innovative tools across the organization.
  • Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget.
