- An Associate’s Degree is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions is required.
- At least 2 years of full-time Registered Nurse experience in an emergency room or comparable experience is required.
- Current Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross are required.
- Fluency in English, including written and oral communication, is required.
- Plan, prioritize, and provide proficient, age-specific, developmentally appropriate, and specialty-appropriate nursing care using advanced specialty clinical nursing knowledge and skills while ensuring patient and family comfort and safety.
- Complete accurate, concise, and legible documentation in medical records.
- Observe and record patients’ signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status.
- Present proposed revisions of interventions and desired outcomes.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records.
- Follow physician orders when delivering nursing care.
- Collect laboratory samples and perform laboratory testing in accordance with established policies and procedures and COLA and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments regulations.
- Follow infection-control and isolation procedures and aseptic techniques when delivering patient care.
- Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
- Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
- Assemble equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty service area and perform or assist with procedures and treatments in accordance with applicable legal, facility, departmental, and nursing-practice standards.
- Perform assigned quality-assessment activities and document them.
- Attend required staff meetings and company-sponsored or mandated meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course certification is preferred.
