Requirements
  • A Master of Social Work degree is required.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Clinical experience working with individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, substance use disorders, mental illness, and homelessness is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical support to Case Managers addressing mental health and substance use concerns, suicide prevention, psychiatric emergencies, crisis intervention, and client-related incidents.
  • Develop and maintain on-site supportive services, including peer support, relapse prevention, housing readiness, activities of daily living, and health education groups.
  • Serve as a liaison to the HRA HIV/AIDS Services Administration Emergency Placement Unit regarding admissions and room closures.
Desired Qualifications
  • A New York State social work license is preferred but not required.
  • Candidates holding a limited permit are encouraged to apply.
  • CASAC or CASAC-T certification is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the NYC HRA HASA benefits and entitlement system is preferred.
  • Experience working in a residential or shelter setting is preferred.
  • Experience with group facilitation, tenant organization, intake and assessment, co-occurring disorders, community outreach, and program development is preferred.

S:US helps New Yorkers who face homelessness, disability, behavioral health and addiction challenges, poverty, criminal justice involvement, and trauma access a wide range of supports across New York City and Long Island. It coordinates services such as case management, housing and stabilization, behavioral health treatment, recovery supports, rehabilitation, advocacy, and community-based programs tailored to each person’s needs. By linking housing, health, justice, and community resources, S:US delivers integrated, place-based services that address multiple barriers at once rather than focusing on a single issue. The goal is to help people lead purposeful lives, improve neighborhoods, and break the cycle of poverty for current and future generations of New Yorkers.
