Requirements
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols

  • Excellent communication skills combined with a respectful approach toward patients’ privacy rights under HIPAA regulations
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and documentation of medical histories
  • Assist with activities of daily living such as mobility support, hygiene, and feeding assistance, including tube feeding when necessary
  • Administer medications and treatments following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations
  • Operate Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner for accurate medical documentation
  • Support patients with specialized needs including Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and other forms of senior or disability care
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to supervising healthcare professionals promptly
  • Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration, and other clinical tasks requiring anatomy and physiology knowledge
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the healthcare environment to prevent infections and ensure compliance with health regulations
  • Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is highly desirable
  • Certification or licensing as required by state or local regulations for Medical Technicians is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if necessary
