Job Duties: Provide operational and engineering support for multiple messaging platforms including Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, Itiviti Catalys (FIXEngine), and SWIFT. Automate processes for migrations to the cloud and workflows to impact efficiency of operations. Monitor messaging platforms for service outages caused by infrastructure or backend application issues. Provide operational support to triage production incidents and engage with respective stakeholders to restore services and perform post incident review to prevent future occurrences. Independently handle small to medium infrastructure projects including platform software upgrades and migrations. Onboard clients to messaging platforms by effectively interacting with end users, infrastructure teams and external parties to establish end-to-end connectivity and message flow. Plan and support Disaster Recovery for all messaging platforms on periodic basis and work with required stakeholders to make sure clients are not impacted.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as an Analyst, Junior Analyst, Senior System Engineer, Junior System Engineer or related. In the alternative, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or as an Analyst, Junior Analyst, Senior System Engineer, Junior System Engineer or related. Must have experience with the following: Automation and provisioning technology including Ansible; Java, Perl and Python; deploying to and operating commercial clouds including Azure and AWS; messaging technologies and platforms including IBM MQ; operational support to triage production incidents, restore services and perform post incident review; automating deployment of IaaS components including storage, network and compute; TSL/SSL certificate management and configuration to enable robust security configurations; and configuration of monitoring and alerting to proactively identify infrastructure related issues/failures.

For California only the salary range for this position is $173,400 - $214,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
