Responsibilities
  • Advises prospective students about the applications process and of the academic and extracurricular offerings of the School/College at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
  • Cultivates or manages relationships to facilitate or expand opportunities for interdisciplinary programs; external collaborations/partnerships, and education outreach.
  • Recommends students for admission for both the undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Responds to routine and non-routine inquiries from applicants concerning the application process, notification, financial aid information, visa requirements, conditions and program requirements.
  • Works with Head of School to develop and execute admissions/recruiting strategies and specific activities. Represents the School/College's programs at recruitment events.
  • Addresses large groups of prospective students and their parents concerning the merits of the School of Design at CMU.
  • Advises prospective students about the applications process, including portfolio requirements, and of the academic and extracurricular offerings of the School/College.
  • Coordinates admissions and recruiting for pre-college program. Trains, and supervises student tour guides.
  • In coordination with the Committee Chair and Faculty Committee, determine which prospective students will be offered admission to CMU.
  • Meets with prospective students and their parents at secondary schools and recruiting fairs throughout the country. Will be required to travel and stay overnight. Approximately 8-10 trips in a calendar year.
  • Performs related duties and special projects as required.
  • Prepares and submits weekly, monthly, and annual recruiting effort reports.
  • Responds to routine and non-routine inquiries from applicants concerning the application process, notification, financial aid information, visa requirements, conditions and program requirements.
  • Works with Head of School to develop and execute admissions/recruiting strategies and specific activities. Represents the School/College's programs at recruitment events.
  • In collaboration with the Communication Team, writes general promotional pieces, correspondence and other papers to support recruiting efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned, Performs related duties and special projects as required.
