- A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
- At least one year of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, social services, or a related field is preferred.
- Coursework or experience in psychology, human services, nursing, criminal justice, or social work is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations is required.
- The ability to bend, lift, stand for extended periods, and participate in patient intervention activities when needed is required.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as scheduled is required.
- Observe, monitor, and document patient behaviors and interactions throughout the assigned shift.
- Support patients in developing healthy coping mechanisms and essential life skills.
- Assist patients with daily activities and provide escorts throughout the facility as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic treatment environment.
- Use verbal de-escalation techniques and provide physical intervention when necessary; training is provided.
- Encourage positive patient engagement and participation in treatment activities.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to support patient care goals.
