  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in benefits administration, leave management, or related HR operations.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits law and regulations (ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Experience using HRIS systems (Workday preferred) for benefits eligibility, leave tracking, and enrollment transactions.
  • Proven ability to reconcile benefits invoices and resolve billing issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, especially in explaining benefits/leave concepts to employees
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential employee information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or equivalent spreadsheet tools) for tracking, auditing, and reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Support employee eligibility tasks for all health and welfare plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
  • Assist employees with questions or issues related to benefits and leaves; escalate and track issues as needed.
  • Enter and process Benefit Events in Workday for new hires, qualifying life event changes, job status updates, and Open Enrollment, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
  • Review eligibility reports and file feeds; identify discrepancies and report them to the Workday systems or module support team, coordinating follow-up to ensure accurate file feed integrations and resolution to completion.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and assist with resolving eligibility and system configuration issues.
  • Assist with benefits orientation for new hires and provide employees with clear information to help them understand and select their benefits.
  • Process benefits invoices; use reports and audits to verify billing accuracy and maintain premium tracking logs, especially for employees on leave.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Accounts Payable to track invoice approvals, payments, accruals, and follow up on vendor payment status or questions.
  • Identify and correct billing issues in coordination with vendors and help update billing SOPs as needed.
  • Respond to employee questions about leave policies and procedures, while supporting the administration of leaves of absence through documentation management, eligibility tracking, manager notifications, track leave records, statuses and return-to-work updates in Workday.
  • Ensure employees receive the appropriate leave-related resources, instructions, and communications to help them understand their responsibilities; identify opportunities to enhance clarity and efficiency and recommend process enhancements.
  • Process benefit terminations and assist with COBRA administration, including vendor inquiries and manual enrollments.
  • Review termination data to ensure correct coverage end dates and proper documentation of COBRA events.
  • Help maintain employee-facing resources such as benefits guides, FAQs, and Open Enrollment materials.
  • Assist with audit tasks and compliance processes, including documentation reviews, eligibility checks, and reporting needs (e.g., ACA, 5500).
  • Submit and track system tickets for Workday issues related to benefits, leave, or deductions.
  • Maintain accurate records in HR systems related to benefits, leave, and billing.
  • Assist with preparing benefits and leave reports, support benefits analytics as needed and help draft presentations.
  • Support special projects and other related duties as needed.
