Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid Illinois driver's license must be maintained.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and basic computer operations is required.
  • The ability to use computerized inventory and receiving systems is required.
  • The ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, along with bending, stretching, manual dexterity, and periods of sitting and standing or walking, is required.
  • The ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers is required.
  • Knowledge of requisitioning procedures, receiving documentation procedures, equipment use, inventory locations, and doctor specialty supplies or preference cards is required through on-the-job training.
  • The ability to adapt to changing workloads and varying levels of supervision is required.
  • Independent problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Verify receipts, document damages and discrepancies, contact vendors, and complete the appropriate documentation.
  • Inventory, receive, store, and deliver supplies to clinical and non-clinical departments and areas within the ambulatory surgery center.
  • Monitor the surgery schedule to help determine supplies needed for surgical cases.
  • Perform counts of par-level locations using handheld technology and research discrepancies.
  • Order and scan supplies to various departments and areas using correct charge methods.
  • Assist in completing month-end loss reports for expired or wasted items and return-to-vendor items.
  • Maintain ambulatory surgery center inventory and storeroom work areas in a clean and orderly manner according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate with internal and external departments, including requesting items from hospital partners and vendor representatives.
  • Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident-reporting policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to all Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Springfield Clinic training requirements.
  • Perform cycle counts on perpetual inventories in PeopleSoft to ensure accuracy.
  • Work in a storeroom and office environment, including data entry, paperwork sorting and filing, telephone use, and distributing supplies throughout ambulatory surgery center areas.
  • Perform other assigned job duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical products and terminology is preferred.
  • Experience with SIS and PeopleSoft/Oracle is preferred.
