Steel Dynamics announces leadership appointment. Steel producer and metal recycler Steel Dynamics Inc., Fort Wayne, Ind., has announced the appointment of Matt Bell as vice president of metals recycling and president of OmniSource. Since joining the company in 2016, Bell has held leadership roles within the metals recycling platform in operations, commercial, and marketing. Since 2023, he has served as vice president of commercial for OmniSource. Before joining the company, he held various leadership positions in the metals recycling industry.
Dayton, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Omnisource plans to invest $2,268,000.00 to build out 8,764 square feet of new space in Dayton. The company plans to occupy the new space at 401 Riverbend Way in Dayton, on or about December 1, 2025. According to the company website OmniSource, LLC is a multifaceted metals-recycling companyùone of North Americas largest processors and distributors of scrap and secondary metals. We collect, process, and resell a wide variety of scrap metal. Through recent expansions and acquisitions, we can now process 7 million tons of ferrous scrap per year and more than 1 billion pounds of nonferrous metals. We currently operate more than 70 collection and processing facilities, including 11 high-capacity shredders as well as other metals processing facilities, and employ about 2,500 people
