Engineer 1/2 Senior

There are 2 positions available: 1 in Sioux City (filled) and 1 in Des Moines (open). 

This is a multi-level posting. Candidates may be considered for any of the posted levels, depending on education, years of experience and depth of expertise.

The senior engineer provides engineering services for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of project additions to MidAmerican Energy Company's energy delivery system. Responsibilities include project management, estimating, materials procurement and construction contracting.

This is a multi-level posting. 

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

The engineer II position requires at least one year of engineering experience. 

The senior engineer position requires at least five years of engineering experience. 

The senior engineer II position requires eight years of industry experience and a PE license. If no PE license, must have ten years as a practicing engineer. 

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution. Five years of industry experience as a practicing engineer, and must be a licensed PE. If no PE license then must have eight or more years as a practicing engineer. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Provide engineering services for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of project additions to MidAmerican Energy Company's energy delivery system; focus may include planning and budgeting gas and electric systems. (45%) Provide technical project management for all phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, cost tracking and project cost projections. (20%) Conduct engineering studies and investigations and prepare oral and written reports. (20%) Provide engineering assistance to other departments and perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (10%) Keep informed of industry issues and technical trends that can benefit MidAmerican Energy Company's business. (5%) Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning. Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques.

Pay Range: $77,200 - $127,500
