Requirements
  • An Associate of Science in Nursing or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
  • A current New Hampshire or compact-state registered nurse license is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support and cardiopulmonary resuscitation training is required.
  • Current Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Oncology Certification is required.
  • A current Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Card is required.
  • Three to four years of professional nursing experience, including one to two years of oncology nursing experience, is required.
  • All required licenses and certifications, including registered nurse and Basic Life Support credentials, must be maintained.
Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic, patient-centered care to high-risk, complex, acutely and chronically ill oncology and hematology patients in the outpatient setting.
  • Use the nursing process across the cancer care continuum, including assessment, planning, care coordination with the interdisciplinary oncology team, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Apply evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, symptom-management tools, standards, and protocols in patient evaluation and care.
  • Initiate and maintain venous access devices according to evidence-based intravenous-device guidelines.
  • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, intravenous and other medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments in accordance with current Chemotherapy Administration Safety Standards.
  • Identify and manage oncologic emergencies according to evidence-based practice guidelines.
  • Assist providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments as needed.
  • Document patient care activities, assessments, interventions, and patient or family communication accurately and thoroughly.
  • Identify patient access barriers and potential solutions, and identify resources for people with cancer and their caregivers.
  • Stay current with changes related to EPIC integration and developing SolutionHealth integrated initiatives as needed.
  • Attend required educational programs and assigned annual competencies, including Telephone Triage and Clinical Skills Day.
  • Ensure that consults, testing, patient education, and procedures are completed in a timely manner.

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution is preferred.
