Requirements
- Impeccably organized, excellent time manager, with careful attention to detail
- Passionate about operational and production workflows, obsessively conceptualizing ways to work smarter and more efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Problem solver, always ready and able to present options in all instances
- Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or Visual Arts education preferred
- 10 years of experience as a lead stylist - preferably in a commercial photography environment
- 5+ years of managerial experience leading a team
- Strong food styling and propping portfolio that demonstrates skill level and attention to detail for both photo & video
- Experience working collaboratively with photographers in a fast-paced environment
- Keen eye for composition, including creative ways of executing your vision
- Ability to accurately execute and plate recipes, adjust to feedback and add value where necessary
- Proven experience with budget management
- Experience in sourcing and inventory management for props and food styling
- Demonstrated knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation and plating
- Experience guiding, teaching and directing other stylists in executing dishes
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and desire to effectively drive change through empathy and persistence
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the skill sets of the styling team (both on & off-set) through training, goal setting, development plans, etc
- Oversee and execute the planning, preparation, propping and styling of dishes for weekly menu photography and marketing campaigns (both photo and video), delivering beautiful and appetizing content that is in-step with brand guidelines
- Prep, source & wrap - props, wardrobe and surfaces for all photo & video shoots
- Fabricate and build sets for marketing campaigns as needed
- Collaborate with Creative team to ensure that all imagery executes on the intended creative vision
- Partner with our Culinary teams to ensure that the food produced and styled, accurately represents our product
- Work closely with the Producers to assign stylists to each shoot (across locations) and communicate any additional freelance coverage needed
- Maintain a stable of freelancers, proactively reaching out to new talent and refreshing the talent pool as needed
- Consistently assess current styling processes and workflows to ensure efficiency of the team
- Collaborate with the Lead Photographer and Sr. Kitchen Manager to assess current studio processes and look for ways to improve efficiency, productivity and collaboration
- Forecast, track and report monthly budget to AD, Studio Ops for all styling needs across studios
- Organize and manage a large prop library
- Cultivate a positive fun studio environment by keeping a pulse on morale and employee engagement, recognition and value, and celebrate individual and team wins
