Description:
CTI is seeking an experienced TS/SCI polygraph cleared Cloud Software Engineer (SWE) to join our team in the Annapolis Junction area.
The day-to-day:
As a Cloud Software Engineer, you are expected to perform requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution at a high level of proficiency and independence. You are expected to communicate directions and provide guidance to more junior programmer/analysts, as required. Cloud Software Engineers must be adept at developing solutions which integrated or extended COTS or GOTS products. Additionally, Cloud Software Engineers may be responsible for evaluating project needs, determining tasks and durations, and generating and reviewing designs for technical accuracy, completeness.
The qualifications (required):
·Must be a US Citizen
·Must have TS/SCI clearance w/ active polygraph
·This position is open to multiple levels of years of experience; two (02) years within the last five (05) years must be directly related to the position applying:
oLevel 03 requires a minimum eight (08) years of experience
oLevel 02 requires a minimum four (04) years of experience
oLevel 01 requires a minimum two (02) years of experience
·Experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
·Experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++.
·Willingness to be a committer/contributor to open source applications
·Java programming for distributed systems, with experience in networking and multi-threading
·Experience with Apache Hadoop, Apache Accumulo, and Apache NiFi
·Agile development experience
·Well-grounded in Linux fundamentals and knowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)
·Experience with source code management practices and tools
·Enabling tools: Git, Maven, Jira
·Continuous Integration / Continuous Testing: Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab Cl/Pipelines
·Continuous Monitoring: ELK Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana), Nagios
·Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
·Hadoop/Cloud Developer Certification
The nice-to-haves (desired, not required):
·Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to two (02) years of experience.
·Master’s degree in a Technical Field will be considered equivalent to four (04) years of experience. NOTE: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
·Understanding of Big-Data Cloud Scalability (Amazon, Google, Facebook)
·Experience designing and developing automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms.
·Experience developing and deploying: analytics that include foreign language processing; analytic processes that incorporate/integrate multi-media technologies, including speech, text, image and video exploitation; analytics that function on massive data sets, for example, more than a billion rows or larger than 10 Petabytes; analytics that employ semantic relationships (i.e., inference engines) between structured and unstructured data sets; analytics that identify latent patterns between elements of massive data sets, for example more than a billion rows or larger than 10 Petabytes; analytics that employ techniques commonly associated with Artificial Intelligence, for example genetic algorithms.
·Experience with taxonomy construction for analytic disciplines, knowledge areas and skills.
·Experience with linguistics (grammar, morphology, concepts).
·Experience developing and deploying analytics that discover and exploit social networks.
·Experience documenting ontologies, data models, schemas, formats, data element dictionaries, software application program interfaces and other technical specifications.
·Experience developing and deploying analytics within a heterogeneous schema environment.
