- Current California state licensure in nursing as a Registered Nurse or in an allied health profession as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist.
- A minimum of two years of experience in rehabilitation or a closely related field.
- Previous experience with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data collection, Minimum Data Set, Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument, or Outcome and Assessment Information Set.
- Coordinate data collection on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument for completion and timely submission to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
- Ensure evidence of supporting documentation.
- Provide clinical staff education to ensure compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services guidelines.
- Coordinate efforts for immediate issue resolution concerning GG scoring and rating.
- Conduct ongoing review of Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument-related data and assist the Director in addressing actions.
- Provide guidance to rehabilitation physicians and the clinical team on capturing tier codes for appropriate reimbursement.
- Provide feedback to the team through audits on scoring, rating, and quality measures.
- Implement a schedule for every patient to ensure timely completion of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument.
- Report key metrics to the leadership team at daily team meetings.
- Collaborate closely with the Health Information Management coding department to identify and document all applicable codes concurrently.
- Experience with International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision coding.
