Assembly Media Inc., a subsidiary of Daniel J. Edelman Holdings, Inc., has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Account Executive on the Microsoft Communications team, that focuses on reaching multicultural audiences across the US.
Must have strong earned and creator experience, account management skills, a proven track-record of driving results to targeted multicultural audiences, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- A passion for reaching Black/ African American audiences via earned tactics and creator partnerships
- Help plan communications plans and implement public relations and creator tactics to meet client objectives
- Confidently communicate with clients and provide cross-team support including preparing client status and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, compiling media and competitor coverage audits, etc.
- Be on the pulse in terms of what is happening on the news, on social and in culture in relation to the target audience
- Understand your client’s business including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers, and competitors in the marketplace
- Media and creator expertise:
- Grow and build relationships with key consumer and multicultural media and creators
- Keep master media and creator lists up to date on an ongoing basis and compile targeted media and creators lists specific to campaigns
- Confidently pitch to media and creators to support reactive and proactive opportunities
- Create media materials to support client campaigns that are well-written and newsworthy
- Manage the full influencer process for programs including influencer identification, vetting, negotiation, contracting, management and reporting
- Demonstrate an understanding of research techniques, including analysis of media coverage and online conversation (volume and tone) as well as creator analytics
- Lead development of content and brand overview documents for influencers outlining program creative requirements, communication mandatories and contractual expectations
- Stay up to date with the latest influencer marketing trends including disclosure requirements and performance best practices
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in an integrated role – working across earned and creator
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven publicity skills; ability to secure message rich coverage in top-tier publications and have strong media contacts/relationships
- Solid knowledge of the media landscape, with specific understanding of how national, consumer and multicultural publicationsoperate and what it takes for brands to break-through.
- Clear understanding of the influencer marketing landscape, importance and role of influencer marketing, best practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop earned and creator plans
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of internal contacts (junior staff, peers, and senior staff), demonstrating a consistently high level of verbal and written communications.
- Proven ability to manage large projects and small teams on one or more sizable accounts.
