Engineering Intern

Location: Location: Hybrid, Sunnyvale, California (3-5 days in office)

This is a 12 week internship program beginning on May 27th 2025 or June 23rd 2025. This internship is based in Sunnyvale, California, and will require a hybrid work schedule. Please note that we are unable to provide relocation assistance at this time.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Explore and experiment with OpenShift APIs to understand their functionality and compare them with VMware APIs. 

• Investigate feature parity between VMware and OpenShift, documenting key differences and implications for system performance and behavior. 

• Assist in the porting of regression tests from VMware to OpenShift, ensuring that test coverage remains consistent after migration. 

• Develop and automate test scripts for large-scale regression test suites to ensure effective execution on OpenShift. 

• Gain exposure to infrastructure-related issues such as scalability, VM mechanics, and the impact of cloud-native architecture on test performance. 

• Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and scaling challenges when running regression tests on OpenShift. 

Experience:

• Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelors Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date in Winter 2025/Spring 2026. 

• Basic understanding of APIs, web services, or RESTful APIs. 

• Experience with automation frameworks or scripting (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Python automation). 

• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) is a plus. 

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

• A passion for learning and continuous improvement.

Compensation:

$ 37 USD - $ 47 USD
