Requirements
  • Journeyman Millwright Red Seal certification.
  • At least 1 year of comprehensive mechanical experience with dredges, pontoons, ladder winches, and cutter heads.
  • Ability to read and understand piping and instrument diagrams.
  • Class 5 driver's licence.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including climbing multiple flights of stairs and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use SharePoint and Manager Plus software.
  • Ability to complete required project and job paperwork.
  • Ability to work safely and collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on rotating and stationary equipment within the dredging and fluid management fleet, including dredges, tender boats, and positive displacement pumps ranging from 3x4 to 16x16.
  • Perform critical laser flange alignment on equipment.
  • Execute scopes of work in accordance with Transport Canada standards.
  • Repair, fabricate, or replace defective machinery components and conduct follow-up testing and calibration on repairs.
  • Rig and move machinery and parts.
  • Assist with equipment startup and shutdown according to applicable safety procedures and governing standards.
  • Interpret schematics and read service manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Establish and communicate task lists, order parts, and prepare bills of materials required for scopes of work.
  • Complete health, safety, and environment practices and paperwork for daily activities.
