Director of Wellness, Retail, and Club 1927 - Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa (Hotel) Fairmont Spa is the heartbeat of Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa; offering geothermally heated pools, a traditional Roman-style bathhouse, and numerous massages, facials and body treatments that pay homage to the holistic healing traditions of the region. As Director of Wellness, Retail, and Club 1927, you will embody the values of wellness and luxury hospitality, inspiring a team to create exceptional experiences that leave every guest feeling renewed.
What you will be doing: Reporting to the Director, Operations, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and lead the strategic vision of the Fairmont Spa, ensuring all wellness experiences reflect Fairmont brand standards and the unique positioning of the hotel
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Spa, Retail, Fitness, and Club 1927 Membership, maintaining a strong daily presence in all wellness areas, engaging with guests and colleagues to ensure service excellence and addressing any immediate operational needs
- Lead by example by being actively involved in daily operations to support peak periods, coaching in real-time, and ensuring every guest touchpoint aligns with service excellence.
- Monitor departmental financial performance, including revenue generation, cost control, payroll, and profitability metrics, ensuring financial goals are consistently exceeded
- Inspire, lead, and develop a passionate team committed to delivering personalized and transformative guest experiences through a hands-on leadership approach
- Strategize with the team on new offerings and actively contribute ideas to elevate the wellness experience and environment, fostering a holistic and integrated wellness culture throughout the hotel
- Partner with Sales & Marketing to design and implement promotions, events, and seasonal activations aligned with wellness objectives and revenue targets
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by utilizing guest feedback, colleague engagement insights, and performance evaluations
- Analyze market trends, guest feedback, and competitive offerings to position the hotel as a leader in luxury wellness
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both guests and colleagues, with a strong focus on health and safety protocols
- Follow department policies, procedures and service standards

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a senior leader in a full-service luxury spa, preferably within a hotel or resort setting
- Extensive knowledge of spa operations, wellness treatments, retail, and current industry trends
- Degree or diploma in hospitality, business, or wellness-related field an asset
- Demonstrated ability to drive financial performance, enhance guest satisfaction, and foster employee engagement
- Familiarity with systems such as Book4Time, Opera, BirchStreet, and Microsoft Office an asset
- Results-driven and adaptable, with the ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Leads by example and cultivates a strong team culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and high performance
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable hours based on business needs
Yearly Salary Range $115,000-$130,000
