Requirements
  • 10-12 years of relevant technical experience in information security, including at least 5 years in a security operations center or security operations role.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools including security information and event management platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, and Microsoft Sentinel; endpoint detection and response; intrusion detection and prevention systems; and vulnerability management platforms.
  • Experience troubleshooting and responding to security events and incidents in cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience supporting SOC 2 and ISO 27001 security audits and working with external auditors.
  • Strong hands-on AWS security expertise, including Identity and Access Management, Security Hub, and GuardDuty, and Azure security expertise, including Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel or Defender.
  • Strong Kubernetes and container security experience, including cluster hardening, workload identity, runtime controls, and image scanning.
  • Experience with security operations automation, including triage and response automation, detection engineering, and playbook automation using security orchestration, automation and response workflows or scripts.
  • Strong hands-on Datadog security monitoring experience, including dashboards, alert tuning, and investigation workflows.
  • Practical artificial intelligence and machine learning skills for security operations, including alert enrichment, correlation, anomaly detection, and summarization, with responsible use of artificial intelligence tools to improve analyst productivity.
  • Strong Google Workspace security administration and identity protections, including administrator controls, audit logs, and OAuth application governance.
  • End-to-end vulnerability management expertise, including asset discovery, prioritization, remediation verification, and risk-based reporting.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts including virtual private networks, Domain Name System, routing, firewalls, and load balancing.
  • Working knowledge of access control, directory services, and authentication protocols including OAuth, Security Assertion Markup Language, and OpenID.
  • Scripting skills in Bash, Python, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and application programming interface or representational state transfer integrations.
  • A bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a self-learning mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to own end-to-end incident management from detection through triage, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review, and to drive stakeholders to closure.
  • Experience running tabletop exercises, leading incident drills, and performing attack simulations or purple-team activities to validate controls and response readiness.
  • Ability to lead, prioritize, and execute complex projects across multiple geographically diverse groups with competing priorities.
  • Strong customer service orientation and experience adhering to support service-level agreements.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with 24/7 security operations center coverage requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts generated by security information and event management platforms, including Datadog and Microsoft Defender, and other detection tools.
  • Lead investigations into security incidents and breaches, conduct root-cause analysis, and recommend appropriate remediation actions.
  • Develop, refine, and execute incident response playbooks to support timely containment and resolution of cyber threats.
  • Perform threat hunting to proactively identify indicators of compromise across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Optimize threat detection capabilities by tuning endpoint detection and response, intrusion detection and prevention systems, firewall rules, and security information and event management correlation rules.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize vulnerabilities across internal and external applications, systems, and services using vulnerability management tools and best-practice methodologies.
  • Conduct security assessments and provide remediation guidance aligned with the National Institute of Standards and Technology, ISO 27001, and Center for Internet Security frameworks.
  • Contribute to threat modeling activities for the company’s AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform environments.
  • Act as a security consultant to cross-functional teams, providing guidance across information security and risk management domains.
  • Apply AWS and Azure security services to secure cloud-native and hybrid architectures.
  • Collaborate with security engineering and information technology teams to integrate and configure security operations center technologies, including security information and event management, endpoint detection and response, intrusion detection and prevention systems, firewalls, and vulnerability management tools.
  • Engage with partners to secure cloud offerings based on industry best practices.
  • Support SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audit activities, ensure adherence to compliance standards, and facilitate external audits.
  • Maintain working knowledge of regulatory requirements including GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS and apply them to operational security controls.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining security standards, guidelines, policies, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Governance, Risk, and Compliance function to drive a cohesive security program.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management detailing the security landscape, recent incidents, and their resolution.
  • Manage and report on periodic key performance indicators and service-level agreement adherence related to security operations center operations and platform performance.
  • Participate in project and Scrum planning and prioritization alongside the broader security team.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team knowledge through knowledge sharing and hands-on training.
Desired Qualifications
  • One or more professional certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), CompTIA Security+, Global Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), Global Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), or equivalent offensive security certifications.
  • Strong Palo Alto firewall knowledge, including policy design, threat prevention, logging, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel.
