Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • One year or more of experience as an LVN required
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Texas
  • Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association approved program
  • Other certificates as required by unit/service
  • Experience in specialty area preferred
  • Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact) communication skills
  • Proficiency in PC usage
Responsibilities
  • The Licensed Vocational Nurse provides patient care and education in ambulatory clinics under the supervision of RNs, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants, physicians, dentists, or podiatrists.
  • The LVN applies the nursing process to ensure physical, social, psychological, and spiritual needs are met.
  • Responsibilities include assisting with predictable healthcare needs, providing individualized goal-directed care, and coordinating care between the healthcare team to optimize patient understanding and outcomes.
