Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least two years of clinical veterinary experience are required.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and emergency patient care is required.
  • The role requires communication, client service, and interpersonal skills.
  • The role requires the ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • The role requires the ability to lift 40 pounds or more and stand for extended periods.
  • The role requires a collaborative approach and commitment to exceptional patient and client care.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for emergency clients and provide compassionate service during stressful situations.
  • Triage incoming emergency cases and communicate critical information to the clinical team.
  • Obtain patient histories and accurately document medical information in the electronic medical record.
  • Assist with patient intake, including obtaining vital signs when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with veterinarians and technicians to prioritize cases and maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Enter service charges accurately during the intake process to support timely invoicing.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms for incoming emergency patients.
  • Keep clients informed by providing updates and setting expectations throughout their visit.
  • Support efficient shift transitions and daily Emergency Department operations.
  • Work with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
Desired Qualifications
  • Emergency or specialty hospital experience is strongly preferred.
