Requirements
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
  • Experience with pumps, valves, and irrigation systems.
  • Ability to drive a tractor or learn to drive one, with a good driving record and a valid Georgia driver's license.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to drive a jockey truck to move offal trailers and tankers.
  • Ability to work alone, use good judgment, and make decisions.
  • Ability to follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk one to five miles per day in indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, and bend.

  • Ability to climb stairs daily, occasionally climb ladders, and work daily on elevated structures.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operation and compliance of the offal screening, dissolved air flotation, sludge production and dewatering, and chemical mixing and injection systems.
  • Use and maintain personal protective equipment and work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and operate offal equipment and machinery, including tumble screens, augers, pumps, motors, dewatering equipment, compressors, and chemical feed equipment.
  • Observe fill levels on trailers and tankers.
  • Drive a jockey truck to move full and empty trailers and tankers.
  • Monitor mechanical wastewater equipment, including meters, pumps, motors, electrical equipment, and pivots.
  • Measure and monitor wastewater chemicals, including Santiquan, polymer, caustics, and washing soaps.
  • Perform cleanup and housekeeping for the assigned work area, tools, equipment, facilities, and grounds.
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery times of loaded and empty trailers and tankers with third-party drivers.
  • Bale and compact cardboard as requested.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Safety and Environmental Manager.
Desired Qualifications
  • Relative poultry industry experience.
  • Basic math functions and skills.
  • Pass the NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical Test, Level 1.
