Requirements
- Minimum of bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of automotive product engineering experience working in product development with a preferred focus on vehicle braking and suspension systems.
- Strong fundamental NVH knowledge of noise measurement, analysis and development.
- Able to travel to various local Technical Centers as required.
Responsibilities
- Utilization of noise and vibration measurement and analysis tools to evaluate and improve vehicle braking and suspension system NVH performance to meet customer targets.
- Perform standard and custom component & system level tests such as FRF, modal analysis, transient response to determine dynamic characteristics.
- Conduct diagnostics and root cause analysis using noise / vibration testing dyno rigs, shakers, chassis rigs, vehicle and other laboratory methods to isolate sources of NHV and propose countermeasures.
- Collaborate with product engineering, project management , NVH and CAE engineering staff to propose, evaluate and recommend necessary design change solutions.
- Conduct braking and suspension core engineering projects including investigating and developing new techniques and methodologies.
- Coordinate associated NVH lab maintenance, calibration and documentation for instrumentation, project, procedure and database such as (NVH work request, testing plan, testing data, engineering report, customer presentation, etc.
- Provide NVH leadership to customers. Attend working and review meetings with internal and external customers. Conduct data analysis, write and present technical reports/presentations.
