Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited registered nurse school of nursing.
  • Have one year of acute care experience in Surgical Services; staff with strong education and associated experiential background may be considered in lieu of this experience.
  • Hold a current California registered nurse license.
  • Hold current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
Responsibilities
  • Provide acute patient care to patients in the Operating Room from admission to discharge.
  • Direct unlicensed employees' activities.
  • Synthesize patient information, assess patients, plan care and interventions, teach patients and families, implement treatment plans and physician orders, and document and evaluate patient care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, and families to coordinate patient care delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing feedback related to individual, unit, and organizational performance improvement.
  • Integrate patient care standards and protocols into personal practice and assist other registered nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel.
  • Complete patient care assignments and documentation, ask for and offer assistance as appropriate, and delegate as appropriate.
  • Support the medical center's mission, strategic plan, goals, performance improvement plan, and organizational expectations, including customer service, patient rights, confidentiality of information, and environment of care initiatives.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • Current Certified Nurse Operating Room certification is preferred.
