The day-to-day:
As a Systems Engineer you will be performing duties/responsibilities primarily on Oracle database. You’ll be joining a team that provides systems engineering, software development, configuration management and application testing support for a Weapons and Space software development effort. You will frequently communicate with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
Basic Qualifications:
- TS/SCI w/ poly
- Bachelor’s degree and 20 years of experience or 25 years of total experience with absence of a degree.
- Experience with:
- Developing system design solution that satisfies the system requirements and fulfills functional analysis.
- Performing Requirements Analysis: Inclusive of managing system requirements; Deriving follow-on requirements and requirements from understanding of stakeholder needs.
- Participating in establishing and gaining approval of the definition of a system or component under development (requirements, designs, interfaces, test procedures, etc.).
- The development of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
- Coordinating and executing the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews.
- Develop Security Mechanism Technology to ensure the fortitude of system vulnerabilities.
- Participating in an integrated Product Team to design new capabilities.
- Allocating real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystem components.
- Generating alternative and innovative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
- Defining the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, and work products.
Preferred Qualifications (desired not required):
- Experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
- Knowledgeable of Service Oriented Architecture.
- Knowledgeable of AWS System Development.
- Experience with tuning database performance.
- Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).
