Requirements
  • Master's Degree, certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), licensed in the State of Washington
  • Current pre-hire and annual employee health screening
  • Annual influenza vaccine required with exceptions for medical or religious exemption approved by Administration; employees with exemptions must wear a mask during flu season
  • Successful completion of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Program (ARNP)
  • Certified by the appropriate Nursing Certification Board (Population-focused Nurse Practitioner Cert; e.g., PNCB, FPNCB)
  • To prescribe legend drugs, notation of approval on license
  • A current Drug Enforcement Administration certificate is required if applicant is requesting privileges to prescribe controlled substances
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support CPR within 90 days of hire date and maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment
  • Additional education may be required for some specialty areas (orthopedics, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Provide primary medical care services to Sea Mar Community Health Centers patients in accordance with training, experience, certification, insurance and licensure and in a manner consistent with Sea Mar guidelines and mission
  • Refer patients to medical specialists or other sources of service when necessary
  • Prescribe and/or dispense required medication to patients according to the prescriptive authority granted by the Washington State Board
  • Participate in preventive health programs such as immunization, disease detection and disease prevention activities, including education programs for patients and community groups with approval of Clinical Director and/or Health Center Administrator
  • Participate in clinical affairs, working with administrative personnel, the Clinical Director and the Medical Director to improve patient care experience
  • Provide care for special groups of patients such as those in nursing homes or other institutions when appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with staff to provide team-based coordinated care
  • Adherence to Sea Mar values and commitment to mission and client-centered, culturally-aware services

  • Knowledge of and interest in the unique cultural aspects of the Hispanic people
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
