Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Four years of direct experience in avionics maintenance, primarily in the military aviation field, or appropriate military occupational specialty training, is required.
  • Any combination of education and experience may substitute for the stated requirements subject to hiring-manager recommendation and approval by the Chief Operating Officer or higher.
Responsibilities
  • Install avionics units, parts, equipment, and components according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Fabricate and assemble prototype equipment for military aircraft using military technical manuals, technical orders, modification work orders, and blueprints.
  • Coordinate with project engineering personnel and provide technical assistance to project engineers.
  • Service, repair, and overhaul aircraft to ensure airworthiness.
  • Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft components, including wiring harnesses, power distribution systems, communication and navigation systems, and flight control and aircraft monitoring systems.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, machines, equipment, soldering irons, and connector installation tools to perform avionics maintenance.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical manuals, Federal Aviation Administration Federal Aviation Regulations, and commercial aircraft manuals.
  • Service aircraft batteries to maintain safe operating conditions.
  • Install units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assemblies according to blueprints and specifications using hand and power tools.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
