Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • At least eight years of applicable experience is required.
  • A Professional Engineer license is required.
  • Proficiency in multiple areas of substation engineering, including physical layout design, protection and control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, and relay testing.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to interface effectively with employees at all levels.
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of approximately five engineers and computer-aided design designers in general and physical layout and protection and control packages for substation design projects.
  • Serve as the sealing engineer for the majority of work produced by the team.
  • Manage customer relations and business development with select clients.
  • Supervise and schedule the work of engineers, designers, and computer-aided design operators on the assigned team.
  • Act as the customer's point of contact to manage existing projects and customer satisfaction, as well as future business and upcoming project plans.
  • Support and contribute to the company-wide safety culture by following established safety standards, policies, and best practices to help ensure a safe environment for employees, clients, and the public.
  • Perform and direct project design, including engineering calculations, use of computer design software, and reference to appropriate engineering procedures and design manuals.
  • Perform and direct preparation of complex project documents, including specifications and bid documents.
  • Perform and direct complex drawing reviews, including checking and marking up full plan sets to ensure clear, concise, and thorough graphical representation of the design intent.
  • Supervise the work of and assist in training division Project Engineers I and II.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the described work.
