Procon Consulting LLC is seeking a talented and detail-oriented BIM Specialist with experience in the Design and Construction Industry. As a BIM Specialist you will be working directly with the Client, Design, and Construction Team. The BIM Specialist is responsible for managing, facilitating, and executing the daily processes of developing and maintaining Revit and AutoCAD in the office, client site, and construction site. This person will also be working as the main point of contact to designers and modelers for Revit and AutoCAD related items. The BIM Specialist is accountable for delivering successful integration, design, construction, operations, and automation workflows.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct regular model audits to verify accuracy, adherence to project standards, and proper integration of point cloud-derived elements.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between scanned conditions, as-built records, and modeled elements.
- Use point cloud data from laser scans and existing as-built drawings to develop and refine building models in Revit and CAD.
- Model at LOD 200 for elements such as walls, doors, stairwells, and exterior windows, ensuring accuracy and alignment with actual conditions.
- Integrate essential structural elements as placeholders derived from scan data and documented information.
- Model workstations as nominal footprints reflecting their spatial occupation.
- Accurately size desks (W/L/H) based on reference documentation, without adding ornamental details.
- Ensure proper spatial relationships between furniture elements and architectural components.
- Develop Revit families for floor boxes and other IT/Electrical elements, incorporating attributes and parameters needed for data capture.
- Reference point cloud data and as-built information to ensure correct placement and configuration.
Qualifications and Skills
- Top Secret Clearance
- 5-10 years of experience in commercial/government office building design and construction.
- Proficiency in the most current versions of Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Experience with BIM standards and procedures.
- Ability to develop Design Intent Drawings and other documentation.
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural schematics.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with large building owner facility requirements and standards.
- Prior experience with federal or government projects.
- Prior experience modeling from point cloud data and as-built documentation.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate point cloud data and existing documentation into reliable BIM/CAD models.
- Communicate effectively across teams to manage updates, address challenges, and ensure smooth project workflows.
