Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Registration as an Electrical Engineer
  • The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field
  • Experience in designing within Federal, Healthcare or Industrial markets is desired
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage project teams for electrical design and documentation across sectors including Federal, Healthcare, Local Government, and Manufacturing & Distribution.
  • Provide technical direction for electrical design and documentation, including power, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
  • Encourage collaboration to seek the best solutions and mentor designer level staff on responsibilities.
  • Review and discuss project goals, design standards, and procedures with Project Managers and Director of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
  • Involve front-end activities to set direction of projects in Schematic Design and Design Development.
  • Apply risk management practices to project engineering and contribute to revisions of design standards and master specifications for the discipline.
  • Lead and develop a team of specialists, technicians, and engineers to ensure quality assurance, scope, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Provide information for pre-design services such as feasibility, site selection, and cost analysis; prepare studies and reports for electrical systems and develop basis of design narratives.
  • Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting requirements or difficult coordination; prepare code compliance evaluations and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance, including zoning laws, fire regulations, building codes and other ordinances.
  • Develop design concepts with designers and technicians to ensure proper application and execution; ensure BIM processes using Revit and other BIM applications; manage design documentation delivery for Design-Bid-Build, fast-track, and Design-Build delivery methods.
  • Report status of design process and cost analysis to Director and Project Manager and evaluate Value Engineering items with respect to risk; manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects; monitor budgets and schedules; uphold Quality Management processes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Revit MEP Proficiency and knowledge of leveraging other production software focusing on Building Information Modeling
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and electrical design software
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes
  • Current affiliation and/or membership of local, state, or national industry organization(s) is a plus
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certification is a plus
  • LEED Accredited Professional is a plus
  • Experience in Federal, Healthcare or Industrial markets is desired
