OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the COO/CFO, the VP/SVP Finance will be responsible for leading Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Finance, Tax,Treasury and Risk Management and help provide leadership for the Finance and Accounting functions. The SVP Finance will be responsible for the monitoring of financial performance and maintenance of appropriate financial plans and forecasts, supporting the COO/CFO and Officer Team at Mammoth. In addition, the SVP Finance will be a key member of the leadership team, will participate in establishing and implementing strategic business plans for the company, ensuring operational effectiveness and efficiencies, and will be responsible for the identification and assessment of financial risks. This position requires a strong business acumen, subject area expertise, strategic thought partnership with the COO/CFO, a commitment to mentoring and developing team members, and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide senior leadership in all areas of finance, general management, reporting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, controls, financial systems, accounting, capital markets and treasury
- Provide strategic suggestions/inputs and help lead the development of processes and procedures to operate efficiently and support the Company’s evolution and growth
- Support the CEO, COO/CFO and senior leadership in financing activities and investor management
- Prepare materials for senior leadership, Board of Directors; participate in Board or committee meetings
- Understand key business drivers, business trends and competitive analysis
- Provide hands-on leadership and oversee the development of annual budgets, long-range plans, scenario planning, financial and valuation analyses to guide resource and capital allocation decisions, interfacing across G&A and R&D teams
- Develop metrics and analyses to measure financial performance, including budget vs. actuals and latest estimates
- Assess financial needs as well as strategically plan for current and future growth of the company
- Support business and corporate development planning and activities as needed
- Build, coach and lead a high-performing finance team that provides quality partnership throughout the organization
- Responsible for the development and implementation of reliable and scalable operating and control processes with IPO readiness in mind
- Ensure regulatory and corporate compliance regarding all financial functions
- Oversee all banking operations and maintain appropriate corporate insurance program
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of financial leadership experience in the biotech industry
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
- Experience with ERP systems, such as NetSuite
- Experience with pre-revenue and commercial stage companies
- Experience taking companies public and raising capital privately and publicly
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA and/or CPA license
- Ability to apply sound, creative problem-solving techniques
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a high-growth environment; willingness to roll up sleeves and pitch in wherever needed
- Ability to build strong trusting relationships with the leadership team, the board, our investors, and the broader organization as a whole
- Ability to manage dialogue and relationships with key external constituencies, including investment banks, audit firms, investors, etc.
- Excellent business judgment, problem-solving and critical thinking skills to help address important business decisions
- Wall Street experience and operational finance experience
- Business development experience a plus

Base Salary Range: $ 345,000 - $360,000
Actual base salary will be determined by relevant professional experience, applicable skills, and internal equity.
